Lainey Wilson took home the 2024 Grammy for best country album!

Lainey Wilson, 31, started off her acceptance speech for the award for her album Bell Bottom Country by saying, “This is very crazy, y’all. I’m receiving my first Grammy ever.

The vocalist of “Watermelon Moonshine” continued by expressing her gratitude to her co-writers, producers, and “everyone who had any part with this record,” saying, “It has truly changed my life.”

“I am from a farming community in northeast Louisiana, a little town of 200 people, and I’m a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter, and I would consider myself a farmer too,” Wilson went on to say.

She went on, “And it’s about waking up each day, sowing those seeds, giving them water, and seeing them sprout.” And occasionally, I really believe, you may get the harvest of a lifetime when you locate the ideal agricultural community, and I feel that’s just what this is this evening.”

“May God bless each and every one of you,” she said. “Jesus, I’m grateful. I really appreciate the support from my followers and the Recording Academy. I cherish you all so much.”

Lainey Wilson in 57th CMA Awards

At the 57th annual CMA Awards in November of last year, Lainey Wilson won performer of the year, another significant honor.

Additionally, she delivered another moving address at the event.

“This is the only thing I know how to do, and it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do,” a distraught Wilson said. “We have engaged in play… By the end of the year, we’ll have performed in around 186 performances and put in a ton of labor, both this year and the years prior. After twelve and a half years in this town, I feel like country music is finally beginning to love me back.”

Lainey Wilson continued her speech by discussing the significance of her “lucky number,” nine, to her and her profession.

She said in the address, “That’s how many times we were nominated for the CMAs this year.” However, that was also the year I penned my very first song. I received my first pair of bell bottoms in that year. It was the year my parents took me to Nashville for the first time and to the Grand Ole Opry. That was the year that my parents brought Tex, a wild horse that needed to be broken, into the house. They put me on the back of the animal and said, You better Ride.

And let me tell you something, there were moments when I wanted to cry and get down, saying things like, “Let me off the back of this thing.” She said, “But every time it started bucking, I’d hold on a little bit tighter.”

The monster, Wilson explained, “prepared me for this ride, because it is wild.”

Lainey Wilson Barbie song

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie song has gone viral on social media and around the world, especially during award season. The song is vying for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards and Best Song Written for Visual Media at the Grammys after taking home the Best Song trophy at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Ronson made a joke before their performance, saying that Ken’s theme tune had given him the ideal frame of mind to handle awards season.

Positively, there’s a strong possibility Barbie wins even if Ken loses. The song is up against several other songs from the movie, such as “What Was I Made For? “Lift Me Up” by Rihanna is the lone non-Barbie candidate for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Wilson is vying for Best Country Album in other categories.
